At the risk of sounding like an arse. Notepad And learn how to do everything from scratch. 9/ 10 times WYSIWYG applications create horribly ugly code and break standards.

I don't really know where you could take a class, but I built our website, without any prior knowledge of how to do that, through networksolutions.com They don't charge all that much to register your domain name and host your site. In return, you can use Image Cafe, their website design tool. It's really easy to use and very easy to customize.

I'll definitely have to agree with Xander on this one at the risk of sounding harsh. I also backup the W3Schools site. If you have a local library, or even if you don't mind spending some money, I say go for the Visual Quickstart Guides (Peachpit press). They can start you out at the basics and build ya up w/ o boring you if you're not a good textbook learner. I know you asked about online classes...oops. As for how long it would take: it depends on you, really. Unless of course, you sign up somewhere.
