I'm in a very heated debate. And I need your personal opinions. Would playing video games (like MW2, GTA, etc) lead to more violent behavior/ feelings? Tell me what you think.

I have noticed that people play games that they consider fun to do. So when they play a violent game, then they might think it's fun to be violent. I have heard of a case where a boy stabbed his brother after playing GTA, so I think the answer to your question is yes.

No, if anything I'd think it be an outlet for violent tendancies; people use video games as a scapegoat to simply blame instead of looking at the mental problems the person has

Something like GTA might make 8 year old kids act a bit more violent and like some "gangsta " due to all that goes on in the game. not to mention it is an overrated and crappy game MW2 might make someone more violent, but that might be due to agitation online or something like that. my thoughts, yes, but they make certain people/ age groups more violent and immature

Not exactly, mostly its parents that ignore their children stick them on video games to occupy their attention so they can live life without any "interruptions ". When children aren't taught how to act in everyday situations and only have video games as an example I guess it can lead to behavior problems but it shouldn't be blamed on video games if you watch out for the ratings and content.

If your playing online there are a lot of gammers out there who swear non-stop and a kid could easily pick these words up. If your 15 like me i play and just mute those people who are immature and if you make the right friends video games can be fun and a good infuleces on people.

If violent video games make people violent. how come peaceful stuff doesn't create world peace. only an idiot would think it has long term effects. though studies show there is a short term affect that lasts about half an hour.

No. Video games are entertainment. Violent movies don't make people commit violent acts. It's an area that people can blame because they themselves don't understand them. I'm 25 and have been playing video games since I was about 5. I've played just about every violent game out there and yet you don't see me stabbing people or going on a shooting spree. That's because I, and the majority of gamers, understand the difference between reality and entertainment. A person who commits violent acts already had a mind that was open to such things in the first place. You cannot blame games or movies for pushing them over the edge because they didn't.
