Question: Why have video games become nothing but linear first person shooters with war or mythological combat themes?

That are too difficult to figure out because they have too may unlockables. Is there no creativity at all left in videogaming?

Well someone has been living under a rock for the past year or so. the reason is that the game creators make what the consumer wants dumb ass. and people want fast paced action. and if they are hard to figure out then obviously you are a fucking dum ass

Well, it's what people love to play i guess. I for one enjoy playing games like that, but they aren't my favourite. It's all a matter of opinion, and if most people like them then companies will make them. It's just like Guitar hero and Rock Band for me. I hate the fact that they come out with new ones so often instead of just adding much more to the old ones, and i don't like the games in the first place. It's a good money grabber for the companies because many people enjoy them. Why they do is beyond me, i prefer playing real guitar and drums.
