What's the difference in car audio watts and home audio watts?
I have always wondered ho they get 1000 or more watts from a car stereo when 100 or so home audio watts rock the whole house. Ho is it that 1000 watts in a car doesn't shatter the windows? A 1000 watts would probably blow my house apart lol
Can you buy a Kenwood A V receiver in the US? All I can find on the US websites are car audio products.?
Needless to say, European websites are a little harder to navigate and even harder to find quality reviews I am looking for a receiver that can do HDMI video inputs and ALSO process the sound, not just the video portion. I have an old Kenwood and love it, it just can't do surround sound. I am reading all kinds of mixed reviews about Harmon Kardon, Onkyo, Sony, Denon... I also need speakers. I decent HTIB would be great but I can't find one from the above companies that gets solid reviews... I'm not trying to break the bank, just get a decent receiver that is fully HDMI compatible and some speakers. Any thoughts?

I'm looking for a car audio system that records what is on the radio. At the touch of a button, or maybe pre timed so you can set it up to record later. Is there such a system??? Thanks.
How do u make a boom box out of car audio equipment?
I am considering making a boom box out of car audio components Head unit 2 6X9 speakers Amp Amp wiring kit Sub on off switch and a car battery.the only problem is that i have been told is that using an amp, it will just drain the battery and i will need to recharge it every so often. this is a major problem as idealy the boom box is supposed to be portable.Please help any sugestions on how to stop the amp draning the battery????

How do I convert my car audio sub woofers to home audio?
I have two Alpine Audio E10's and an Alpine Audio MRP M500 amp that puts out 500 watts so 250 watts to each subwoofer. It needs a power input of 14.44 DC 11V to 16V . What I want to know is how I can hook this system up to a TV and make it into a home audio system? Also, where do I hook up the 12V power wire, the ground wire, and the radio signal wire? I've read some stuff online about people using a plate amp? If someone could explain what a plate amp is and how that would work that would be great

Can I use a car-audio amp for a PA amp?
I was in Radio Shack today looking around and I realized how much cheaper it is for a car audio amp with upwards of 800 watts than it is for a guitar amp or PA system power amp with less or equal power. I know that the car systems use 12 volts and probably need more amp.'s than you can get from a wall outlet, but is there a way to build a cheap, DIY, PA system if i ran a mixer into a car audio amp and speakers out of it?
