You should get all in one device because it better it can take pictures and record with out having to take out a different device.

Cameras are meant to take great pictures and so so videos, and camcorders are meant to take great video and so so pictures. It's up to you, but before you buy a camcorder, make sure you test out the picture taking part.

Cameras are designed to take photos, and camcorders are designed to record video. I would recommend buying one of each.
