Phones with answering machines - can I have 2 on 1 line?
I already have a Bush Magra cordless phone with answering machine and am happy with it. I now need to replace another phone and wanted the same but without answering machine but can't get it anywhere. So the question is, if I buy another one with it it's reduced now and " switch off" the answering facility, will this work and would the older phone pick up the messages? I tried finding a Bush website to ask this but without success. Any thoughts on this would be welcome. I don't want to buy yet another style of phone with different jingle and horrid instructions. Thanks.

Telephone Distinctive Ring Answering Machines?
For my in home office I use distinctive ring telephone service 2 phone numbers One line . I am looking for an answering machine that decodes the rings and responds with either of two messages depending on the ring type. I have found devices that will route calls to different phones but nothing that lets all phones ring and just responds with correct answering message. Seems like this should be a fairly simple thing to do. Does anyone know of such a device? Thanks, I had looked into software solutions but I need the answereing service most when I'm away for for several hours and my computer is turned off. Thanks alot. I will check it out
